Expanding the BetOnBlack Investment, and business support pipeline with Michigan Ross IIF

At KE&Co Group, our mission has always been to catalyze the next generation of African innovation. As we continue to scale our impact through the BetOnBlack Fund and Accelerator, we hosted representatives from the International Investment Fund (IIF) at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

This visit marks a significant alignment between our goals as a venture engine and IIF’s pioneering work as a student-run, evergreen venture capital fund dedicated to emerging markets.

The IIF isn’t just a fund; it has an ecosystem including brands like Google Ventures, Baobab Network, Kalei Ventures, StartupChile and YCombinator and acts as a bridge between one of the world’s top MBA programs and the high-growth ecosystems of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Their focus on pre-seed and seed-stage investments in high-priority sectors including agri-tech, fintech, healthcare, and climate action mirrors the exact pillars we are fortifying here in Accra.

A key highlight of the visit was a high-stakes pitch session where select startups from within the BetOnBlack ecosystem presented their ventures to the IIF representatives. By facilitating these pitches, we are ensuring that the most promising Ghanaian innovations are positioned for the global stage, aligning our local talent with IIF’s mission to support cutting-edge startups through both capital and strategic value creation.

By this step KE&Co seeks to strengthen the pipeline that connects Ghanaian innovation to investment and world-class strategic support.

Discussions centered on how this partnership can drive tangible value for the startups within our ecosystem. The IIF model offers unique avenues for engagement that go beyond the check; Deal Flow Integration, Strategic Consulting, Value Creation, Legal Rigor Supported by the International Transactions Clinic (ITC) at the University of Michigan Law School, ensuring due diligence and deal structures meet international standards, providing startups with a robust framework for global scale.
